I ordered this printer ink on Amazon for our Canon MX700 ink jet printer. It’s currently going for $5.86 plus shipping. My first thought is, how the hell is it so cheap? For this many cartridges, you’d probably be paying close to $80 bucks! Well, I ordered it and it came it relatively quickly and I really have no complaints. It works just like normal. Now I don’t have to complain if i rarely use my printer and the ink dries up a bit because I barely paid anything for this. Try it out. Start ordering these third-party ink cartridges and stop overpaying.

Son of a b.. Now I realize why I had formatted my external as FAT32 (on a previous post I said it was NTFS, but I was wrong). I usually transfer a bunch of tv episodes or movies from my Macbook Pro to my external hard drive just so I can watch it on the PS3 and big screen. Well since I had to reformat that hard drive as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), the PS3 isn’t gonna be able to recognize it when I plug it into the USB port. Ugh. I guess I gotta seriously look into getting the uPNP on the NAS working so I can stream videos from there to the PS3. I’ve gotten the pictures and music to work, but video isn’t showing up on the PS3 as a network drive for some reason.

So as you may or may not know, Kristine and I have an impending wedding coming up. I was talking to one photographer today at this vendor expo we were at and I asked him what kind of camera he had. He said he was a Canon person and he had a Canon 50D Mark II. There’s no such thing as the 50D Mark II. I’m pretty sure he said 50D. Not 5D. I’ve crossed him off my list of possibilities, lol.

It’s hard to narrow down and pick a wedding photographer. There’s so many of them and the market is saturated. So it comes down to personality and whether or not it looks like the photographer will work well with you. And sadly, that’s why I’ve eliminated photographers who look like they don’t know how to operate a computer.

Another scenario – We passed by one vendor who had a gigantic blowup of a photo… let’s say 2 feet by 3 feet… but the photo was badly pixelated. Okay, so on my last post about High Definition, I said “Megapixels don’t matter”. That’s not entirely true. If you’re gonna blow up a picture that big, you need a lot of megapixels. These people did not understand that. The worst part of it is that this same vendor had packages starting at $5000. That’s absolute garbage. Be educated.

Some photographers also used some really crappy pictures in their sample albums. The point of a portfolio is to show your BEST work. Honestly, if people see one really bad picture, they’re gonna make judgments of your work as a whole… Common sense, right?

So not all photographers are bad. Like I said, it’s gonna come down to personality with these vendors. Most of them are nice, some were awkward, some of them know their stuff. Hopefully we’ll come to a decision soon!

So I finally dove into buying a pocket camcorder… I think most people who own one of these probably owns a Flip, but I wanted to venture away from that and go with Kodak Playsport, mainly for the fact that it lets you put your own SD card in it. You’re not limited to a 60 or 120 minute recording. Oh, and it’s waterproof too. So look forward to all those Youtube videos recorded in my shower.

http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/en_US/pd/PLAYSPORT_Video_Camera/productID.169976100

A lot of these cameras brag about being able to record in 1080p, but seriously, is it really HD? I think the same thing applies here as applies with digital cameras, and I’ve had a few friends who’ve had a hard time grasping the concept of how megapixels don’t matter! You could have a 15 megapixel photo, but the quality could be absolutely horrible. So the fact that this camera can record with a resolution 1920×1080 probably means that i’ve got a video that doesn’t need to stretch when I put it on my TV, but it’ll probably look mediocre to bad. But I guess the goal of me purchasing this camera wasn’t to put videos on my TV, but to upload it to youtube where quality isn’t always the most important thing. What just irks me is the fact that they market the terms 1080p and HD so heavily… Don’t be deceived.

I’m probably late, but I just discovered the last.fm app for my Blackberry. I’ve discovered a perfect harmony across several of my devices thanks to last.fm. The first step has been to setup your iTunes to scrobble all your songs to last.fm every time you listen to something. Also, when you connect your iPod to your computer, make sure all those songs you listened to get scrobbled to last.fm. If you’ve got that set up, you can access “Your Library” on last.fm anywhere – any PC, your iPhone, Blackberry, whatever. “Your Library” basically consists of the songs you’ve scrobbled.

So to make a long story short, I’ve got a nice little shuffled list of all the songs I listen to streaming to me on my Blackberry. And there’s no possibility of them giving me a crappy recommendation like Pandora or Slacker Radio can possibly do. If you’ve got everything synced up correctly, you will be on your way to success.

If you want to add me on last.fm: http://last.fm/user/frankspastic
